The Intel Celeron processor at 400 MHz delivers up to a 20 percent* performance improvement over today's Intel Celeron processor at 333 MHz, while the Intel Celeron processor at 366 MHz delivers up to 10 percent* more performance than the 333 MHz version. In addition to these processors, Intel is enhancing its offerings in this market segment with the new Intel 440ZX AGPset, a product designed to offer enhanced performance and flexibility to low-cost PC systems.
Intel Celeron processors are now offered at 400, 366, 333 and 300A MHz speeds (all with 128 KB of integrated Level 2 cache on the processor core). In 1,000-unit quantities, the Intel Celeron processor at 400 MHz in Plastic Pin Grid Array (PPGA) packaging is $158, and the Single Edge Processor Package (SEPP) version is $166. The Intel Celeron processor at 366 MHz in PPGA packaging is $123, and the SEPP version is $131. These processors are available in systems from major PC manufacturers, as well as in boxed format from Intel product dealers and resellers. The Intel 440ZX AGPset is now available in 10,000 unit quantities for $35. Boxed BI440ZX Micro ATX motherboards utilizing this chipset are also available.
