IBM's NEW RESEARCH FACILITY - LOOKING AT HIGH-FREQUENCY PROCESSORS
(June 5th 1995) IBM's Research Division is building a third US
laboratory, this time in Austin, Texas. The new site will house
researchers looking at advanced circuit design techniques and tools
for very high performance microprocessors. In particular, it will be
concentrating on high clock-speed work.

The lab will be headed by Dr. Randall D. Isaac, previously project
manager for the 64Mb DRAM development joint program with Siemens and
Toshiba and Director of Silicon Technology at IBM Research in
Yorktown Heights.
