IDT WinChip C6 Processor Meets PC Industry Need for High-Performance at an Affordable Price
SANTA CLARA, California, October 13, 1997- Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT) (NASDAQ: IDTI), today announced the availability of the IDT WinChip C6 microprocessor, with a micro-architecture optimized for Microsoft Windows business applications. The IDT WinChip C6 processor is compatible with other Pentium -class x86 processors with MMX technology and is available at speeds of 180 MHz and 200 MHz. IDT expects to start sampling the IDT WinChip C6 processor at 225 MHz and 240 MHz in November 1997.
The IDT WinChip C6 processor was designed by Centaur Technology, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of IDT. The microprocessor's revolutionary design, at 30 to 60 percent the size of similar Pentium-class processors and consuming as much as 50 percent less power, is geared toward the sub-$1,000 desktop and sub-$2,000 mobile PC product categories.

The IDT WinChip C6 processor is offered in a 296 Ceramic Pin Grid Array (CPGA), Socket 7 compatible package, which enables PC manufacturers to leverage the established and cost effective (Socket 7) motherboard, chipset and BIOS infrastructure.
