AMD K6x (K6 K6-2 K6-3 and mobile variants)
ID guide
The AMD K6 family of CPUs comes in MANY versions with varying
core voltages, temperature ratings and packages. This guide will help you
establish which version of the CPU you have. It is also useful in finding
what CPUs you want or need for your collection. Please note that the speeds
marked on mobile chips are maximum speeds. This is due to the speed scaling
used to increase battery life. It is not a true 'Performance Rating' as the
chips actually ARE capable of running at the speed (and do when running on
AC).
